Since the conflict in Sudan began in April 2023, nearly 3 million people have sought refuge in South Sudan, Chad, and neighboring countries. This displacement crisis has been further compounded by the declaration of famine in the two besieged cities of El Fasher and Kadugli in early November 2025 with 20 additional areas predicted to be impacted by late 2025.

Oxfam and partners are providing clean water, toilets, bathing facilities, and distributing food and cash to families in need. As people continue to flee into Sudan’s neighboring countries, much more assistance will be needed to meet the urgent needs of the displaced in this overlooked crisis.
