Locust infestations have just hit two new districts in northern Uganda as they continue to cause tremendous damage in Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, and Djibouti and threaten even more countries in East Africa.
These swarms contain millions of the insects and are devastating farmlands, as one ton of locusts eats as much food in one day as 2,500 people. Whats more, this infestation comes on the heels of a paralyzing hunger crisis affecting more than 22 million people in the six countries.
If the infestation is not brought under control before the growing season begins next month, millions more could face severe hunger. Please, donate today to help Oxfam and our partners protect the livelihoods and lives of thousands of people.
