West Africa Hunger Crisis

In West Africa, as many as 27 million people are facing severe hunger due to ongoing climate-driven drought, conflicts forcing families off their farmlands, and the COVID-19 pandemic. To make matters worse, the conflict in Ukraine is creating extremely volatile prices in grain and increased costs for fuel needed to transport food.

Oxfam is working closely with partners in five of the worst-affected countries in West Africa to provide cash, clean water, sanitation systems, and support for women and girls who are at risk of violence.
